Quiet canters for the majority of the horse this morning except San Agustin and Camembert Electric who worked. Neville’s Cross schooled over some hurdles in preparation for his run on Monday.   Having spoken to John Chinn this morning he told me that 3mm of water is evaporating daily, he would know as he’s one of the biggest and most successful fruit growers in the country. Mayb...

Black Anthem jumped some fences this morning. Argonauta and Glory and Fortune had a blow on the hill having warmed up on the sand. Those we’d like to run again had canters around the sand and up the hill. Had I of known Ayr were going to over water and produce what has been described by Yes No Maybe so’s jockey as slow ground, dead and over watered. To say I’m annoyed about is is...

Nothing too serious for any of the horses this morning, just routine canters on the sand and up the hill for most.    I was talking to Emma Lavelle at Aintree who was explaining that the social stable on ITV racing is used by those within the industry who’s job it is to monitor how the public view racing. The numbers she quoted of how many people logged in to the social stable du...

This morning Glory and Fortune, Lossiemouth, I’m on Snap, King Ferdinand, Teescoponentslass, Highstakesplayer and You Name Him schooled over hurdles. Aintree was not quite the same without all the ladies in their dresses or lack of dresses. It is great to have owners back on the course and I hope things can move along fast in the right direction, talking to them over the rail isn’t ideal but better than nothing. Kateson ran a screamer and Competition just got tired having needed the run.    The less said about Sedgefield the b...

Quiet canters for the horses this morning, Baily’s Gorse, Competition and Algesiras schooled over hurdles.    It was one of those mornings between 4.30 A.M and 9.55 A.M I found myself checking declarations over and over again as well as making sure I had declared the horses I was supposed to. Argonauta missed the cut which caused huge frustration for us all.    It wil...

Routine canters for the horses around the sand and up the hill this morning. Plenty worke don Tuesday, the day I failed to make time to write a blog.    The tapes are on at Aintree, people keep telling me it is going to snow. Anything to keep plenty of juice in the ground will do for us.  I spent yesterday in Newmarket at the sales, the trade seemed fair and solid. There was not ...

Typical Monday morning canters for most of the horses this morning. Kateson and Rosmuc Relay went for a hack around the roads and tracks, Polydora went up the black mountains.    New Moon has been having a few days in the loose school in order to teach him to make a better shape and I feel we are making progress in the right direction.      Stung for Cash was hammer...

Another crazy early morning start for a few of us, Kateson, Yes No Maybe So, Competition, Camembert Electric and two unnamed four year olds went for an away day. They galloped two miles on grass and we liked what we saw.    The rain ruined any hopes of Sebastopol showing us what we had hoped to see so it was an east decision to pull him out. Sky Sports Racing were here bright and early to film and chat about Kimberlite Candy as well as others subjects within the industry. Sadly, for them, I have very little opinion on racing politics other than realizing the prize money issue. A sharper brain than mine is needed to change the model we currently have. In its current state it will ultimately be racing downfall if something’s are n...

All horses returned from Doncaster in fine shape as has Adrimel from Cheltenham.    There are more people leaving Cheltenham disappointed that elated, we all know how tough it is to win there and the Irish have dominated this week more so that I can recall any other year. The press is mad to write about the Irish domination. I have not heard a single commentator even attempt to explain...

Piaff Bubbles in in good shape this morning, he is a horse who needs time and does what he does on pure ability rather than physical strength. He is a horse to look forward too when he fills his frame.    Hazzaar found it all a little too sharp and was in top gear from the get go, due to the aforementioned, his jumping was accurate and at times ugly. Glory and Fortune got robbed, my la...
