This morning we worked Piaff Bubbles, Tea Clipper, Hunting Percival, Kimberlite Candy and Lamanver Storm. The other horses all had canters around the sand and up the hill. There is little to report other than the laughter created by the man emptying our tanks slipping and falling down our grass bank behind the stables. Benito, Unohu and Nocte Volatus head to Wetherby tomorrow. To read my thoughts ...

A challenging morning with the weather, we managed to box on through it as every yard in the country would have done.    Plumpton was given the go ahead twenty minuets before the first race, this is all well and good but given the number of non runners in the early races makes the whole thing look questionable. We all want to race at every given opportunity, probably, more so than ever...

Quiet canters for the horses this morning, a few of the fat boys did a little more. It was one of those morning when you go most places with your heart in your mouth, we naturally salt everywhere we can. It is impossible to get everywhere with it and this morning was certainly one for watching where the horses were putting their feet. Many know what they are dealing with, others are oblivious to t...

Routine canters around the sand and up the hill for most this morning. Quick Draw, Mr Melda, Unohu, Gold Clermont and Dorking Boy schooled nicely over hurdles.    Rodi Greene was here this afternoon helping the lads on the equizer, watch him briefly was interesting. It is very apparent how good the equizer is, what it can do for you and most importantly the importance of using it corre...

Lagonda, Glory and Honour, Lossiemouth and Argonauta are all in fine shape after their runs.    This morning we worked Piaff Bubbles, Tea Clipper, Unohu, Dorking Boy and King Ferdinand. The majority of the other horses cantered a mile on the sand and swung up the hill once. Fair Kate, Velasco, New Moon and a handful of unraced four years schooled over fences.    Storm Chris...

Polydora and Sindarella are both in fine shape this morning.   The road show moved to Newcastle today, to read my thoughts on the three horses racing there tomorrow, click here.  I'm having to do this on my mobile to apologise for lack of content.    Nico reported that Lagonda still feels weak and that the ground was just too much of an ask given the aforementioned comment...

Those horses in full work had a couple of sharper canters up the hill this morning, others who are freshening up went a few gears slower or lobbed around the sand.   It was certainly a day to remember landing our first Grade 2 with Adrimel. Classic Chase day has been very good to us with Kimberlite Candy landing the spoils there last year and Adrimel giving us all a fabulous day a year late...

Routine canters for the horse this morning, the majority cantered a mile on the sand and once up the hill. Adrimel and Lagonda had a little blow on the hill. Adrimel heads to Warwick tomorrow, to read my thoughts click here.    The support Adam Wedge has been given for his throw away comment about racing being a mans sport has been welcomed news. Adam made a public apology and the majo...

This morning we schooled, Lossiemouth, Eastern, Bentio, Lagonda, Quick Draw, You Name Him, Glory and Fortune, Mr Melda, Lamanver Storm and Sinndarella over hurdles. Algesiras, Polydora, Hazzaar, Velasco and New Moon over fences.    Every hour I receive another text telling me that another race meeting has been abandoned, it is all rather depressing, I had four horses lined up for nice ...

L’Incorrigible and Outlawjessejames seem in good shape after their runs.    This morning we worked Adrimel, Glory and Fortune, Lamanver Storm, Lagonda, Kateson, You Name Him, Benito, Argonauta and Sinndarella. The other horses put in some hard yards on the sand, others had a quieter time of it.    Amateur jockeys have been suspended from riding as of Saturday, I think...

Glory and Honour is in good shape after his win at Lingfield yesterday. We shall now look forward and hope for bigger and better things with him, he’s done little wrong throughout his life and we are lucky to have him. I need him and others to win plenty more. I have had to replace two cars this week, my Audi is written off having drunk too much puddle water and Sophie’s jeep blew up. ...

The warmer overnight temperatures allowed us to get some core fitness work into the horses on the sand this morning. Nothing to serious for any of them but just good to get some of those hard yards into them.   Glory and Honour ran out an impressive winner at Lingfield, he was the fastest time of the day and went further than most! It was our plan to go wide and thankfully, it worked out. L...

Certainly a sharp frost this morning, it was too cold to work anything, not that we wanted to. The sand gallop was too firm given the wet weather we’ve had with such a hard frost. All horses cantered up the woodchip which I can’t remember ever been unusable in six or seven years of all sorts of weathers.    Ffos Las made a total arse of themselves today, they clearly learnt...

Happy New Year to you all.    There is little to report, this morning as with most Monday morning the horses had routine canters up the hill. Lagonda and Bentio jumped a few lines of hurdles nicely.    We will be having a quiet week with no entries until Sunday.    Sebastopol and Hazzaar seem in good shape after their runs at Musselburgh, Sebastopol will go for ...

This morning we schooled Adrimel, Sebastopol, Hazzaar and Benito over hurdles, the others all had quiet canters. Johnny Burke was in to sit on a few.  Polydora seems fine this morning, we won’t rush him back and will continue to mix up his routine.    I will be heading up to Musselburgh later this morning with Sebastopol and Hazzaar, to read my thoughts on them click he...

Nothing too serious for the horses this morning, quiet canters after we finally got the yard and lanes salted. I thought Polydora showed a little more enthusiasm for the job and travelled nicely until the ground in the home straight was just too much for him for the third time. Brian Hughes rides very seldom for us but his feed back was that of a champion. The pace of the race allowed him time to ...

Wetherby was not a success. Thankfully, JohnBB is fine after his fall, Pounding Poet ran with credit and I should have bought Highstakesplayer home without running.    Monday morning canters for the horses, Dorking Boy, Scipion and Algesiras jumped some fences. Lamanver Storm increased the goal difference with Stan, we are unsure if it is now 4 or 5 nil.    The snow stayed ...

Nothing too serious for any of the horses this morning, Polydora and Glory and Fortune jumped some fences nicely on the schooling strip. Arm bands and many other floating devices would have been needed to do it anywhere else.   It was the calm after the storm this morning, a north wind with bright sunshine was the order of the day when I went to recover any belongings I had left in the car....

Typical Monday morning canters soon come around. Those who ran at Newcastle are all fine, I thought Sinndarella ran a nice race and looks as if she will struggle in novice company, New Moon got stuck in the mud and I thought all the jockeys bar the winners should have been dragged over hot coals in Le Grand Fromage’s race, to give the winner such rope was foolish. If you are relying on horse...

Nothing too serious for any of the horses, many have been busy and seem to be in good shape, those wanting better ground, which is plenty of them will have a few easy days. The ground seems to be heavy everywhere and then we have to go through the drying out ground which can be considerably worse than the heavy ground currently on offer.    Sinndarella jumped a few hurdles in preparati...

We had a fabulous weekend with the horses and have just hit the cross bar since, Lagonda bumped into what looked a very smart animal at Carlisle, she hammered the rest of the opposition and ran a very tidy race indeed. When the time is right, she will now get on over hurdles. Unohu had his pocket picked at Ayr yesterday which was most frustrating, that I am afraid, is the way it goes and no one wa...

It was an early start this morning and we were most grateful to have Richard Patrick in for four lots, Sholto managed his daily six as he’s now on Christmas holidays.
