The Pontefract clerk clearly has a good sense of humour, his going description is given as Soft. He then continues to state he will not be watering! I enjoy a good dry sense of humour.

Russian Service has come out of his race in fine fettle and has now been entered for the Cheltenham sale in April. Lamanver Odyssey will join him, if we have a good weekend and the horses come out the other side we may have another. As mentioned previously on here, we are in no rush to send horses into the next sale. There is another in May and if they need time after their runs we will give it to them.

Whilst doing paper work, I watched a couple of races from Ffos Las this afternoon and am pleased we didn’t take Apergillum. Ffos Las heavy is on a par with Lingfield -  he may go to Wincanton on Monday.

I have just added another 120 tonne of sand to the round gallop, a different seam that isn’t so sharp. The gallops have to be right and cost is irrelevant.

Willie Mullins is taking aim at Aintree in the quest to win the British trainers championship. It would be an incredible achievement and testament to his brilliance. More than once I’ve heard people say we would all do it given the horses. It isn’t as simple as that and there is so much more to it than just having the horses.
