David John wasn’t helped by the rain, had he not of been in the first race over fences we may have reconsidered running but he was getting the best of the ground and there aren’t opportunities for him every day of the week at this time of year. I felt the result may have been different had he not of landed on his head at the 4thlast loosing vital momentum. I think, had he got upside he would have eye balled the winner out of it. Annoyingly, we add to our tally of 2nd’s. I can only apologize to the punter who wished David John broke his neck and I get diagnosed with cancer.

Typical Monday morning canters for most of the older horses, a few went on the sand and the babies lobbed up the hill a couple of times.
