Days like today are not for the faint hearted, I think I could have assaulted someone if they said the wrong thing to me after Kateson’s race. I left Wincanton in very bad form.  The ground on the hurdle track at Wincanton wasn’t for me, it was basically mud so we made a decision to pull ours out and save them for another day. Kateson will be heading off for wind investigations. If your every going to unearth a weakness it is going to be over three miles around Ffos Las on heavy ground. We certanly had no reason to question his wind to date.

Coningsby looked to be travelling really nicely until the pace lifted and he didn't. We may revert to blinkers as Sean felt they may just aid him when the race picks up. I’d like to find him another race in the very near future so we can reap the benefit of a run under his belt. He’s enormous and no amount of work at home will get him where I’d like him for racing. I also think the handicapper needs to cut him some slack.

This morning we worked Neville’s Cross, Equus Amadeus and Dorking Cock, the others all put in hard yards around the sand.

We will move on and look forward to Unohu running at Chepstow tomorrow. To read my thoughts click here.
