Tuesday are becoming my least favorite days given new handicap rating are published. Red Nika was given 4lb for finishing second at Warwick last week, he’s still a maiden and they seem set on stopping horses winning rather than giving them a chance to do so.
This morning we worked Tea Clipper, Glory and Fortune, Stunsail, Algesiras, Outlaw Jesse James, King Ferdinand, Dorking Boy, Immortal Fame and Lagonda. The rest of the horses had quiet canters around the sand and up the hill.
Christopher Robin looked like the winner turning in but wasn’t in front where it mattered. I think we will drop him back in trip as he just doesn’t quite seem to see out the three miles. The ground there is reportedly dead and if the forecast rain arrived tomorrows running arrangements could change for some.
Tomorrow we head back to Bangor with San Agustin, Le Grand Fromage and Glory and Honour. To read my thoughts click here.
