You have to be prepared for everything in this job, cloud seeding was apparent over Cartmel on Saturday and put pay to Jester Jet’s chance of making it 4 wins in a row for us for now. She will get another chance another day and worse things happen. Colt Lighting ran a very nice race but bumped into a seasoned pro from a very good yard. There is no substitute for experience and he will certainly have learnt a huge amount. Colt Lightning is by Flemensfirth out of a Kings Theatre mare and only 4. He isn’t breed to be an early type and will mature into a decent animal, he isn’t the most mature physically or mentally and will now get the summer on his back before heading to the sales in August. It was lovely to get that experience under his belt and he can go straight over hurdles next winter. He is naturally for sale and a sure fired winner.

David John is in a novice handicap chase at Worcester on Saturday and Arctic Sword is in the bumper on the same card.  Amalfi Doug may head to Fakenham on Sunday.
