Christopher Robin is fine after his trip to Wetherby and will be out again soon enough.

This morning we schooled several younger horses over fences, Lamanver Odyssey and JohnBB were the only two older ones to join the party. Hunting Percival, Lossiemouth, Lamanver Storm, Stung for Cash, Nocte Volatus and L’Incorrigible schooled over hurdles. All jumped nicely.

Some day’s things just go your way and you get a run, other days you hit traffic, horses falling back into your lap and simply stopping you in running. Today both our horses had luck in running, something I eluded to on my “thoughts” page. No more so than the inside opening up like the Red Sea when the front horse hung off the rail allowing Stan a lovely run, getting back on terms before running out a nice winner. I was particularly pleased for the horse who hasn’t had the best of starts in life having been thrown in the deep end after winning so well at Market Rasen. I can only blame myself for that and have always given myself a hard time whenever he’s run since.

Floating Rock was suited by the flat track and lack of depth in the race, I hope the handicapper doesn’t ruin his racing career before it has started. Len Attrill who owns part of Floating Rock was there to watch him, the pleasure he is getting from having the involvement in the horse is out of this world and it’s lovely to be part of it.
