Those that worked on Friday had quiet canters on Saturday morning and the 3 year olds all loose schooled. This morning those in training had typical Monday morning canters up the woodchip, we jumped all the 3 year olds over the tyres around the farm having hack cantered a mile on the sand, all jumped willingly and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

David Phoebe heads to Newton Abbott tomorrow evening, she will need the experience under her belt, she is a very kind laid back filly and we’ve been waiting for the penny to drop, she worked nicely on Friday with a little more gusto than we had previously seen. The race will sharpen her up and she will learn from it.

Amadoue will be declared for Worcester on Wednesday evening in the hope the ground is safe.

This afternoon, I went to watch Tilly compete in a one-day event near Cirencester, she had a refusal and a pole down showjumping and a lovely clear round X country within the time limit. A lovely way to spend a bank holiday afternoon.

Good on Joe Root for declaring and having a go at winning the 2nd test - what a final day we have in store tomorrow.
