The horses we took away for the day last Wednesday seem in good order, the lack of rain will allow us to ease off plenty of the other horses this week. As a bunch, they are well forward for the time of year and rain is what we now need. No doubt, when it rains it won’t stop. That seems to be standard for the UK of late. Sebastopol, Velasco, Neville’s Cross and San Agustin worked on Saturday all of which want top of the ground. JohnBB returned into training over the weekend, he’s another very nice horse to look forward to and have for the winter, we have high hopes of winning a decent prize with him.
Velasco heads to Worcester tomorrow, to read my thoughts click here.
This morning we schooled Tea Clipper, Quick Draw, San Agustin, Neville’s Cross, an unnamed 4-year-old, Sebastopol, Flashing Glance, Dorking Boy, Quick Draw and Nocte Volatus over fences. Piaff Bubbles, Cruz Control, Marty Time, Benito, Highstakesplayer, Argonauta, Immortal Fame, Lossiemouth and King Ferdinand over hurdles. Thomas Patrick and Rosmuc Relay went autumn hunting. The other horses had routine canters up the hill, another empty saddle this Monday. Lamanver Storm and Stan seem to be best of friends nowadays but others keep us on our toes. As ridiculous as it sounds, I love to see fresh horses on a Monday, it tells us a lot about the health of the horses and their general wellbeing.
Don’t mention this country and its inhabitants to me or fuel. Another self made problem for the country. What HGV drivers we had didn’t disappear over night and although it was clearly getting tough for goods to arrive at their destination we were managing. As someone mentioned on twitter, there should be cries of job shortages in the hope that some folk may want to get one.
