It would have been very easy for us to find a lesser race for Sebastopol but we needed to learn more about him and get valuable education into him. I was delighted with him this afternoon at Cheltenham. Today was his first run over hurdles on a big stage with no hiding place. Racing life had been easy for him up until now, today he will have learnt more about racing than in any of his previous runs in the sense he came off the bridle for the first time in his life. He galloped to the line and was giving away valuable experience to all bar the winner. I think he would have been a little closer had he had a clearer run at the second last where it must have cost him momentum. He far from disgraced himself.
Nothing too serious for the horses this morning, the 3 year olds continue to work on that all important core fitness. The older horses all need rain and are a piece of work off a race.
Triopas heads up to Kelso, he seems in good order and we are naturally hopeful of a good showing.
