Work morning, Kimberlite Candy, Thomas Patrick, Mary Eleanor, Kates Son, Equus Amadeus, Thistle Do Nicely, Colt Lightning, Polydora, Silk Run, Snapdragon Fire, Cora Sundrop, Triopas, David John and 2 unnamed horses, one by Midnight Legend, the other by Kayf Tara all did a nice bit. All the 3 year olds continue to tick over.

Sword of Fate ran a very creditable race finishing 2nd behind a 130 rated horse at Warwick this afternoon. Richard Johnson said he was just felt a little too fresh and well rather than running with the choke out, he jumped well and as always with these novice hurdles, there is always something lurking. The winner was the obvious horse to beat and sadly, we just weren’t good enough on the day. We will look for another opportunity for him in 3 weeks’ time. One of the beauties of starting horses over 2 miles is they never get bottomed, I have found if they go into the races in good shape they generally come out of them in even better shape.

Warwick is as lovely track, it attracts a proper crowd of national hunt followers and I always enjoy going there. However, the owners and trainer’s facility could do with upping its game a little. More often than not it is difficult to find a table to eat on and the food is very school dinner like. The stable staff have Racing UK in the canteen and were also given a food voucher, for that the racecourse deserves credit. A few could learn form it, Huntingdon to mention one. If you enjoy watching Deal Or No Deal then Huntingdon is the canteen for you.
