This morning we schooled Agamemon, Russian Service, Kimberlite Candy (aka) Denman, Polydora and Cuirassier Dempire. All the others canter on the sand, those that don’t go on the sand went up the hill. The babies all rode around the farm having little hacks here and there.

A good stat in todays Racing Post – out of 24 runners in bumpers 10 have finished in the first 3. Tonight the stat has changed to 25 runners 11 in the 1st three. That is credit to the staff here and their riding ability. Riding young horses is very different than pointing older horses up a hill 2 or 3 times a day.

Kelsey ran his race and I think I have proved my point that the handicapper has crucified him. There are some positives to take away from today. He jumped with fluncey and travelled better in the early stages of the race. I think we will have to return to Towcester, races are going to have to come back to him for the time being.

Lamanver Odyssey ran a blinder to finish 3rd The jury is out as what we do next. First and foremost, we will se how she comes out of the race and think about field or another run in a fortnights time. We own the half brother by Network to the winning filly.

Richard Johnson rode his 200th winner of the season and the ride he gave Cheat The Cheater in doing so was the ride of the month. He will be champion jockey for as long as he’s riding if he stays injury free.
