Quick Draw ran as we expected him to, he needs a stiff two and half mile and a little more jucie in the ground. New Moon wasn’t quite as free as I thought he might be; he will have to learn to go through his races in a more relaxed manner before he has any chance of doing his better work where it matters. Racing will be the only answer to solving that problem. The ground was drying out fast and I just wasn’t comfortable running anything else given how quickly it was drying given the strong wind and hot sun. The Chase track was too fast from the moment I set foot on it. Taking out Dorking Boy was a very easy decision. All horses are there for another day and that’s more important than anything else.

Guy Roberts and Bernard Whitall-Williams were here to see Kateson, Fair Kate and Vado Forte have a canter around the sand and up the hill.

Ginflix and Dorking Rouge head to Market Rasen, to read my thoughts click here.
