It goes without saying Oisin Murphy is a serious talent but his carry on is simply not going to be tolerated by any sports governing body. His punishment does fit the crime and if anything he has got off relatively lightly for what his antics entailed during a global pandemic. Racing is not better off without him but exceptions can not be made just because you are good at what you do. With the the support of some great people, he will no doubt bounce back. We've all done things we regret.
Willie Mullins had his Cheltenham press morning yesterday. He seems to have a battalion of stars heading over the Irish sea in a couple of weeks time. The social media posts of star after star made me green with envy. They just kept coming and coming. I went to Cheltenham sales yesterday to view todays lots and no doubt he will be adding to his array of talent later today. I don’t think our budget will stretch far enough.
Tea Clipper went for his pre Cheltenham away day on Tuesday, he’s in good order and is aiming at the Ultima Chase. Glory and Fortune the Champion Hurdle and Adrimel has an entry in the Plate. One think is for sure, they won’t all get their ground unless the heavens open after racing Tuesday through until Thursday.
Hesque De L’isle and Tokara head to Huntingdon this afternoon, to read my thoughts click here.
