The horses than ran yesterday are all in fine shape this morning, they live to fight another day. The ground there yesterday was bordering on heavy so we decided to wait with Neville’s Cross who has an option at Newbury on Friday.

This morning we schooled Adrimel, Tea Clipper, Sebastopol, Unohu, L’Incorrigible and Hazzaar. Johnny Burke was in and it was a sorry state that an old man like me had to jump down off my horse to leg him up having put schooling boots on the horses. Given he’s 5ft nothing we will give him the benefit of the doubt. At some point, we fulfill his request for a mounting block on the schooling ground.

The other horses all had routine canters up the hill as they would on any Monday. Pounding Poet had a blow on the hill, he heads to Southwell tomorrow. To read my thoughts click here.

Reports have it, that there is a glimmer of hope that 4,000 spectators maybe allowed to attend outside sporting events when the lockdown lifts next Thursday. It would certainly be most welcome on racecourses and every other sporting event, I am sure.
