JohnBB ran a super race in behind what looked a very smart horse at Market Rasen yesterday, it was a super run given he’s bred to be a staying chaser. He has always had a bit of attitude and showed signs of it off the home bend when Aidan got stuck into him with a bit of tail swishing. He soon knuckled down and ran well to the line in a very pleasing fashion. I think we have all agreed that he will get on over hurdles now.

Sir Egbert also ran a nice race over fences for the first time at Ffos Las this afternoon, he gave 2lbs to the winner and was only beaten a neck so we have a lot to look forward to with him too. He will improve for the run and was left a little short of work as we had been very conscious of getting him ready before the soft ground arrived.

Fair Kate didn’t disgrace herself finishing fifth in the bumper today, she is a frame of a horse and will only improve with another year under her belt.

Sir Egbert and JohnBB added to our increasing tally of second place finishes this time around, nineteen in total to date. It is great that the horses are running their races and being competitive but nineteen seconds is a little frustrating to say the least.

Snapdragon Fire is on a retrieval mission tomorrow, he’s back going right handed and has course form at Huntingdon, it looks a competitive little race and I’m hopeful we can get back on track with him.

Hazzaar heads to Ascot for his debut, he has pleased us at home and I’m very much looking forward to seeing him run.

In the meantime, I’m off to get some sleep.
