New Member ran a very creditable race under a penalty, he has been a smashing buy and given the lads a huge amount of fun. He’s won at Ludlow and been 3rd twice at their local track Hereford. He will jump a fence in time and a few more good days out are to be had. I have a race penciled in for him at Huntingdon in a week or so time, all will depend on how he is nearer the time. To date, he’s taken his races very well and never leaves a nut. We are forecast some dry days now so I expect the ground to dry back relatively quickly.

First Du Charmil came back into training today, he is a horse I really like and has been given an extended holiday and plenty of time to fill his frame. He’s been in light work and looks fabulous. He’s a horse I’m really looking forward to.

This morning we schooled all the babies in the ménage. Todays exercise was just to sharpen them up and give them a change. We have a fence on each side of the ménage and they come thick and fast at them, they have to learn to be quick on their feet. Chase End Charlie jumped 6 fences and 2 ditches on the schooling lane. It was a very satisfactory morning.
