AGAMEMMON

A very satisfactory weekend with two 4 year olds winning their point to points. Agamemmon is by Getaway, he’s a son of Monsun and a sire to keep a very close eye on. This year is his first crop of 4 year olds. His off spring are correct, very good looking and have ability in spades. The word on the street is very positive. I have recommended him to many English and Irish breeders who call me once a year looking for information. I have no doubt in my mind I have it right with this one. Sadly, I doubt we will be able to afford any of his progeny this time around.

Russian Service is by Robin des Champs; Russian Service is a half brother to the ill fated The Govaness. Robin Des Champs needs no introduction and has been a very good sire for us and many others.

All 4 of Saturdays runners have come out of their races in good shape. Draw a line through Pinnacle Panda’s run at Newcastle, he came there 3 out travelling like the winner only to get squeezed out on the bend - after which it was race over. Holding position in a race is key and once lost the job becomes even harder.

This morning the horses had typical Monday morning canters up the hill, all seem fresh and well.

Lady of Lamanver was beaten the shortest of heads on Saturday at Fontwell, her full sister Lamanver Odyssey, last weeks Taunton bumper winner is here and is for sale.

Yesterday, I started the mowing only for a belt to snap, today I drove it in for repair. Having negotiated my way through Hereford traffic I found the repairer had relocated! Luckily, closer to home. What I did learn though is the smaller the car you drive in town the more road space one seems to require. If you drive a Ford Kia or a VW up! let me assure you they do not have a 12ft wing span.

To cap off the weekend England WON THE GRAND SLAM!
