Having grabbed some supper in the pub last night we were late home after visiting the horses grazing at Little Lodge Stud. They have all summered very well and will start to come back in the week commencing 2ndJuly. I am very much looking forward to getting heads over doors again, it is strange feeling only having 20 odd horses around the place.

Yesterday David John, Sword of Fate and David’s Phoebe worked.

Silk Run and King Spirit head to Ffos Las tomorrow evening, both horses should be competitive.

Midnight Henry and a Native River gelding went out and about this morning, a trot and a hack on the sand before taking on the water walk, the swimming trucks were at the ready, thankfully, both horses went in without any trouble. The 3 years olds we bought in Goffs Ireland are cantering around the ménage nicely and are lovely prospects to look forward to.

This afternoon, I went to watch Sholto play cricket at school, the standard is very good for prep school level, 2 brilliant direct hits running people out were the highlight of the afternoon. The Elms needed 166 to win and did it without the loss of any wicket.
