Blimey it was cold this morning, thank goodness there was no wind. Normally just my feet and hands suffer but today my whole body was frozen from flag fall. Frozen pipes always add to the work load and today was no different. At one point, whilst sorting out drinkers my hand froze to the stable door for a split second. The Imp thought it was very funny.

Last night gentleman’s evening was somewhat more subdued than the last one I attended but most enjoyable all the same.

The horses had an easy day today, 2 hacks up the woodchip. 7 of them had the physio yesterday and the others needed a quiet day in preparation for another away day next week.

Having gone up 14lbs for winning his second novice hurdle at Doncaster, Holly Bush Henry made it 3 wins on the bounce at Musselburgh this afternoon. He is a horse we bought at The Derby Sale in 2014 before winning a bumper at Southwell, after which, we sold him at The Cheltenham Festival Sale to Lady Bamford. Today he was up in class carrying top weight. Along with many others who have progressed to win under rules he has certainly done us proud.

Lamanver Alchemy will by pass Haydock and run at Wetherby on Tuesday. Rebekah Rabbit will head to Leicester on the same day, she is in conditional jockeys 0-100 handicap. David Noonan has been booked to ride.

It was a raw afternoon and I decided to go and get a little colder by doing some fencing. I can just about feel my fingers coming back to life as I type.

Man O' Words. Half brother to On Blueberry Hill. Ready to run.
