Many of the horses remain on the freshening up list and those coming out of races are in the same boat. Holding one’s temptation to work a fresh horse is vital and would be counterproductive of what we are trying to achieve with them. When we verge on having a couple of empty saddles, we will pick them up again, the odd squeal and buck isn’t enough.
This morning Velasco, San Agustin, Highest Sun and Nocte Volatus schooled over fences and Sweet Spirit over hurdles. Ginnny’s Destiny and Dibble Decker did a little more. If I have ever wanted a horse to win more than Velasco I can’t remember it.
