This morning we schooled Muse of Fire, King Roland, Soraya, Sir Egbert, The Triple Pillar, Enchancia, Another Drama and Hattie Hopkinson over fences. The others had quiet canters up the woodchip.

I was very pleased with Equus Amadeus; it was solid run given he hadn’t raced since October. He was entitled to need the race, he ran a bit too free and Noel said he struggled to get him to settle. He is a horse we are really look forward to sending over fences, he’s jumped plenty at home and is very accurate and fast out over them.

We considered the ground was too soft for Sebastopol, all morning the ground was given as good to soft soft in places. After race 1 it was officially changed to soft all over so we pulled him out.

I’m not sure what Coningsby was up to but it was very ugly viewing. He didn’t seem to handle the track at Uttoxeter and had far too much light in a small field.

The positive from today - I was unable to watch the rugby.
