The horses that ran over the weekend have all come out of their runs in good nick. Lough Derg leader and New Member spent the day in the field.
Typical Monday morning canters for the horses this morning apart from those we rode yesterday who did a little more.
We have plenty of horses entered between now and Saturday and most will hopefully fulfil their engagements. Bells On Sunday has a pretty punchy entry on Saturday at Ascot in a Grade 2. We will monitor declarations, if you don’t have an entry you have no chance. Owners breeders need to be thinking about their pedigrees all the time and often opportunities can arise for a bit of black type. On this occasion, it looks unlikely to happen as many other horses entered have proven form on soft ground. If the heavens open who knows what will happen.
If you are looking for some entertainment on Sunday, I suggest you dust off your picnic hampers and dress up warm and head to Cocklebarrow point to point. The racing is always competitive with good sized fields. There is always plenty going on for the children to enjoy and some good clean fresh air in the lungs will do everyone the world of good.
