A quiet morning for the horses on the back of a busy week, most hacked quietly up the woodchip and a few put in some yards on the sand. This rain is just getting worse here in Herefordshire, getting back into the yard from surrounding areas is a challenge in itself. Cars are stranded in floods in the middle of roads. Driving through them requires a bit of nerve and commitment. If you stop you’ve had it!

A mixed bag of a day, Dorking Boy looked like he was running a huge race, I thought he’d win before thinking he would get up for second only to watch him fade completely on the deepest ground he’s ever encountered. I think the ground finally found him out. We live to fight another day. I was absolutely gutted for Traffic Fluide; he was going to win grade 1 only for falling at the last for the best bunch of owners any trainer could wish for. The only beneficiaries are their livers.

Exeter is a swimming pool so no runners tomorrow. Think we may be draining 50 swimming pools of our own tomorrow if this keeps up.
