It was certainly a fabulous weekend, the run of second places continued. It was only when I received a text saying it could have been four seconds I realized it was time to blank them and enjoy Glory and Fortunes win in the Betfair hurdle. The Betfair hurdle is the richest handicap of the season and a great race to win. Glory and Fortune and the other three Saturday runners are all in good shape and the mind will now have to focus on getting those three horses to go one place better next time. Glory and Fortune will continue on his road to Cheltenham and who knows what will happen, it is a long road for all horses and we have no idea who will get there on the day yet. I didn’t expect to win the Betfair.

Thank you to everyone who rang, texted and emailed. I hope Panda replied to you all as that was her roll on the way home whilst I drove Glory home. Thank you.

Racing received another body blow yesterday. Until yesterday, I had been unaware a video had surfaced of Mark Todd beating a horse into a water obstacle. It goes without saying you simply can not do that to any animal. There are kinder methods of getting a horse do do anything you want it to and it may involve someone putting on a pair of wellington boots when trying to get into water.

Kimberlite Candy and Immortal Fame head to Lingfield tomorrow. To read my thoughts click here.
