The horses have had a busy enough week, all canters quietly up the hill a couple of times this morning in dry but blowy conditions. The Crow's were here to see their horse having a couple of canters.

The ground at Chepstow was like a carpet but just not soft enough for Thomas Patrick, it is a long winter and there is no panic, although the Ladbroke Trophy is on his radar, we must be careful not to get tunnel vision and miss other nice opportunities for him. Of which, there are plenty throughout the winter. Meep Meep would have benefited from softer conditions yet still ran a super race to finish 4th in a very deep mares novice. Listening to Tom Scu’s post race report on Meep Meep it confirmed we made the right decision taking Thomas Patrick out.

We shall be heading back to Chepstow tomorrow with Dorking Boy who makes his debut in The Persian War, no pressure and Vado Forte who will need every drop of the forecast rain to help his chances. Both horses seem well and I am very much looking forward to seeing them run.
