Quiet day for most of the horses, many worked yesterday and the others have had a busy enough week. Robbie and Tommie popped Kimberlite Candy and Triopas over 8 fences having cantered around the sand. It may not be the clearest of photos but I think you can see Triopas doesn't lack scope!

Warwick was packed today for a great card of racing. Racing at Warwick is always enjoyable, Aiden Murphy has a box and very kindly always invites me up for a coffee. There is no better vantage point to watch the races from.

Everything fell into place for Vado Forte today, I went to the start with him so missed the race in its entirety. The speed they set off to the first was rapid. I knew Robbie would have no trouble settling him and the rest was down to Vado Forte and Robbie, neither let us down. By the time they came around again, I was stood by the 2nd last. He missed it completely but soon got back into his stride and galloped to the line 7 lengths clear of his nearest rival. Every winner is special but when I’ve put my head on the chopping block and recommended a horse to owners it is always a huge relief when they deliver. I’ve always known he has ability but he’s been a challenge and we are by no means there yet. We can only hope the win will do the horse the world of good and help his metal fragility.

In the 2016-2017 season we had 102 runners 21 wins @ 21% winners to runners. To date, 2017-2018 we have had 102 runners 21 winners @21% winners to runners. No amount of planning could have arranged that! We are consistent if nothing else and have until the end of April to improve this year’s statistics.
