Some of the horses have has that valuable time to recover from their recent runs and this morning had to get back to business. We worked Polydora, Thomas Patrick, Kimberlite Candy, Colorado Gold, Kateson, unnamed horses by Saddler Maker, Oscar, Midnight Legend, Doyen, Jeremy, Getaway, Stowaway, Schiaparelli, Winged Love, Network, Westerner and Milan. We certainly have the nicest bunch of 4 years we’ve ever had and have a lot to look forward to.

Vado Forte runs in the first at Warwick tomorrow, he has been off the track for 56 days and is a horse I believe will reward his owner’s patience. He is simply mentally fractious, until he calms down and learns to settle we view him very much as work in progress. There is absolutely no one doubting his ability. He will only improve with time both physically and mentally and will eventually make up into a very nice racehorse.

I finally managed to get the 2 loads of sand that have been waiting for me onto the sand gallop, another load is ordered for next week.

It was great to make it into James Pyman’s upwardly mobile table in todays Racing Post. We are a small out fit with a relatively small number of horses when compared to most. Although we have 47 horses I don’t think I have ever had more than 20 horses officially on my horses in training register at anyone time.  Our results are good and are a credit to the team of staff here who do a fantastic job day in day out.

Each year I promote The Heythrop P2P on my blog. It gets better and better year on year and I highly recommend it as fantastic day out. Numerous kid’s activities throughout the day and do not let a poor weather forecast stop you. A huge heated tend with various children’s entertainers is available free to all.
