Quiet canters for those that worked yesterday, Isle of Ewe’s half sister came back this morning to further her education, she isn’t over big but if she has the ability that Isle of Ewe had we will be fine.

As expected, Dorking Boy won in very impressive fashion today at Market Rasen, he is an exciting horse with a bright future.

Market Rasen is always full of people enjoying themselves with a few drinks, today was the worse I have known it and to see someone bleeding from the mouth after a punch up is not what I expect to see on a racecourse. Every corner we walked around there was someone getting excited and using abusive language. It is sad that people seem to view the races as a day on the drink. It is getting worse up and down the country and racecourses need to start to take some responsibility before it gets any worse. Sholto, aged 12 will not be coming to Market Rasen again to be subjected to that type of behavior, he told me on the way home, he was actually frightened there today. Racing needs to protect its product.

I shall look forward to seeing the Liverpool girls in their finery for the rest of the week and hope all our runners give a good account of themselves.

I will be home too late each night to write a blog but will aim to write one on Saturday evening.
