Will we ever get some decent ground, it has been a difficult year for young horses but we’ve managed to pick our way so far and just have to be patient, some good ground has to be around the corner. The rain fall again today has been biblical.

Boagrius won with his head in his chest yesterday at Barbury Castle, for a 4-year -old to take up the running at the fourth fence, front run and give a display of jumping as he did is credit to the team here. He will now be given every opportunity to get over his run before heading to Tattersalls May sale in Cheltenham. He is sure to be popular. Beneficial is no longer around but was crowned champion National Hunt sire in 2012/2013. His progeny are generally well received at the sales.

Chase End Charlie will not travel to Ayr; he may well go to Exeter with Triopas on 21st April. We will be monitoring rain fall in Ayr this week but hope to send Man O’ Words up there for the bumper. It is always a hot contest - Sprinter Sacre won it in 2010 and Nicky Henderson always sends a good one there. I hope we can give him a fright!

If your able to get to Punchestown the head line act could be Vautour, Don Cossack and Cue Card going head to head, now that is worth the visit.

Panda won our Grand National sweeps stake -  I was the only one to put any money into the pot. I guess that’s what dads are for.
