Typical Monday morning canters come around far to quickly, I was always warned by my father - the older you get the quicker the time passes, he was right.

Vivant won in great style at Fontwell yesterday, the blinkers had the desired affect. Every horse can have an off day and she won in spite of having one at Worcester. I think we will leave the blinkers on and may have to try and beat the handicapper and send her to Hexham a week today. Albert, will have renewed his passport over the summer and can head up North on Sunday with his picnic. She ate every nut last night and trotted up great this morning.

Equus Amadeus runs over fences tomorrow at Worcester, his schooling has always been very good and fences are where his future lies. He is in great spirit and will gain valuable experience around a track that will suit him.

Alastair Cook, take a bow. Every sportsman has peaks and troughs, he has had more peaks that troughs and the statistics don’t lie. He has been a pillar of the team for many many years and to start and finish his test career getting centuries is nothing short of a fairytale.
