Having managed to find and buy 2 horses yesterday I changed my flight and got home in good time this afternoon. I bought a lovely free moving filly by Getaway, she is out of Grangeclare Flight, an own sister to the mares’ grade 3 hurdle winner Grangeclare Lark, and half sister to the grade 3 winner and grade 1 placed Scarthy Lad. I think he’s a sire to follow and the mare has the pedigree to back it up. She has enough size about here and appears to have a great out look on life. She showed herself beautifully and a sharp fella under bid her. It is great to have a filly to race and resell on the books, there seems to be a good trade for them and the race program continues to improve for them.
We also bought a gelding by Schiaparelli, he is yet to have any NH runners, he’s the second foal out of Malindi Bay the 3 times winning mare from the family of Royal Sun Alliance G1 winner Lord Noelie. Ironically, I also have her first foal here to break and get going for The Lucky Bin Partnership. I have had the fortune of breaking in some horses by Schiaparelli already and love their attitudes.
I think there may have been a criminal on the flight home, there was some very suspicious circling above Birmingham, a poor explanation was given by the captain. When we landed and walked off the plane into the building 8 policemen were there inspecting passports. I certainly got the impression they knew who they were looking for and knew what he or she looked like.
