It is not often we are happy with a horse pulling up, The Last of Them is a big raw baby who has been nursed through the first 5 years of his life and owned by a very patient man. He travelled and jumped beautifully for 2 miles and today was all about giving him a nice introduction to hurdles. We would have never have forgiven ourselves had he ended up on the floor. Tommie, rightly, obey the owners orders and put the horse first over and above anything else pulling him up. He will now have a penciled entry for Doncaster on the 29th December.
We woke to another hard frost and the woodchip was the only gallop in use. We have struggled to get any serious bits of work into horses this week but have been able to cover plenty of ground with them in their slower paces.
A great day for Robbie Dunne riding a double at Aintree including The Grand Sefton over the big ones. Robbie has always been part of our team, you will not see a finer rider over a fence. He works hard and deserves a bit of luck.
Have a good weekend.
