All of the horses had 2 quiet canters up the woodchip in typical Monday morning fashion, all the 3 year olds were then schooled over hurdles in the menage. Kelsey jumped 8 hurdles on the all weather schooling ground in preperation of his run tomorrow at Lingfield, Very Intense kept him company. Kelsey's race tomorrow is competitive as one would expect for this time of year, He is well, will prefer the soft ground and I'd like to think his jumping has improved since he last run. He is a big horse and still a frame at 5. He still needs time and will make a better chaser when he finally fills his frame and mans up a bit.
This afternoon was spent hunting with Tilly. I'm sure there aren't too many schools in the country that encourage the parents to take their children out of school to go hunting for the day. I think there must have been at least 12 pupils from the school out. Having moaned all day yesterday that I was far too busy and had far too much to do at home to be going hunting I actually enjoyed it. There is somethig very special about spending time with the children, I am aware that this is somthing I am in danger of missing out on unless I make the effort. I have a great team of staff and they are more than capable of coping for a few hours or more without me once in a blue moon.
