Le Grand Fromage and Ginflix cantered around the sand and went a little quicker than the others up the hill. Those which benefit from lesser visits to the hill cantered further on the sand. Coningsby jumped eight hurdles, he is still a novice over hurdles and is likely to take his chance back over them at Catterick on Monday.

Sir Egbert found two miles on the drying ground too sharp, as he is growing up and not over racing, I think we are now in a position to think about stepping him up in trip.

Due to Adrimel not being 100% this morning I got to watch Scotland and England play rugby this afternoon, a win in the end but a pretty dull game to watch. The weather was unplayable but thankfully, England came on on top. They need to work on much of their game and to hear Eddie Jones saying they purposely came into the first match under prepared was hugely disappointing. Not a winning mentality in my book.

Baton down the hatches, get the fire wood in and prepare for a paper day tomorrow. We shall be wrestling with the wind as will all the other yards in the country riding out this week’s runners.
