Luck of the Legion has a lot to learn, she is unbelievably slow in working it all out but time and experience will hopefully be the answer. Richard Johnson wasn’t disgusted and believes she is worth carrying on with. She will now go straight over hurdles.

Thomas Patrick got lucky when 5 horses fell at the first. He was being retrained as an eventer when I bought him and getting him to switch on has been our hardest achievement. It appears that he is getting sharper with each run and will have his day. Thomas Patrick is David Kellett’s first hand experience of owning a racehorse. To be part of the joy Thomas Patrick is giving him is very refreshing. David John simply can’t handle soft ground. I think we have all agreed he will go home for a winter break before being campaigned again in the Spring.

The rain won’t have helped Triopas tomorrow, we have always thought he wants fast ground but unless you try one never really knows, he will take his chance at Chepstow and Vado Forte will gain more racecourse experience at the same venue. Vado Forte needs to realize the world isn’t going to end - he behaved much better at Ludlow last time and took a step in the right direction, we hope he continues on that thread.

Kim Bailey was dressed like a Christmas decoration today sporting a bright pink jersey, electric blue shirt and a pink and blue stripped tie to boot. It dawned on me that the Cheltenham sales are upon us and his attire seemed to resemble the racing colours of John Perriss a big supporter of Kim’s and the Cheltenham sales. I didn’t let it go unnoticed and pointed out to John he was working towards something………….
