A quiet morning for the horses, those in the fat boys club had to graft a little harder.
Flashing Glance seems in good shape after his run at Ludlow yesterday, I felt his jumping took a step forward albeit, a couple of bad errors that were costly.
Neville’s Cross did as we expected and won well at Exeter this afternoon, Montgomery bumped into one which was a shame but he’s a very smart prospect and one to look forward to. That was a good as bumper as I’ve seen run at Worcester for some time and felt that the slower ground in the last two furlongs caught us out against a horse with very solid form and more experience. Montgomery will be racing in someone else’s colours next time; he was always bought for resale.
A big weekend in store with Tea Clipper, Glory and Honour and Marty Time all heading to Chepstow. For those who have been kind enough to support my thoughts page hopefully, today winner has paid for the year. Reports came in an hour after Neville’s Cross had pasted the winning post in from that one owner was still collecting cash off the bookies. The other was seen with pen and paper adding up his winnings having placed all his bets online.
