We worked Kimberlite Candy, Chase End Charlie, Brandon Hill, Bells On Sunday, Triopas, unnamed filly Midnight Legend ex Lady Rebecca, Agamemmon, Sir Egbert, Russian Service and unnamed 3-year-old by Apple Tree and on the woodchip. All worked nicely and many will have entries to run in the next 14 days.

I was delighted to be able to ride a few of them having tried very hard to give myself food poisoning throughout the day yesterday. It started with a chicken sandwich at lunchtime, the roast chicken had been in the fridge longer than I thought. Not satisfied with that, I then came in and ate chicken in breadcrumbs thinking they were in the bottom oven staying warm when in fact they were just defrosting. I did think they were a bit hard to swallow but having been bought up not to waste food I ploughed on anyhow. I’m either lucky or have the constitution of an Ox.

The handicapper has left Hagstone on 115 not imposing the 3lbs he had allocated him prior to his Sandown run. His opening mark was 109 and he was looking at a mark of 118 for standing in his stable. It is tough on any horse when they keep going up based on other horse’s performances, it can make life hard for them when many other preambles aren’t considered when reassessing them. It is the same for us all and we just have to make the best of what we are given.
