The days have run away with me as they will do this week. Busy mornings combined with runners and then seeing to the gallops have made for late nights and no blogs.

We were not comfortable with the ground at Ascot, I walked the track and below the surface the ground was too firm for us. The rain had not got into it and apart from flicking the top off it was firm ground. Kateson is a young horse with his whole life ahead of him and we saw nothing to be gained from allowing him to run. He will be entered for Carlise and Sandown. Given the London tracks are missing what rain we get the likelihood is he will head north.

Luck of the Legion goes to Southwell today, she was far too weak to run last year and will come on for the run and experience. Plenty of others will run this week but ballot marks will play their part.
