6th November 2015

6th of November and we are riding out in T-shirts and still getting warm. A few weeks ago I went to Henrietta's Kinghts dispersal sale of tack and bought a fair few more rugs. I'm left wondering if we will ever need them. I can't recall only having 1 rug on the clipped horses or to that matter any horse in November. By this time of year  we have normally suffered at least once with frozen pipes. I always have this week in my head as it normally freezes when I'm away at the foal sales in Ireland. I have decided not to increase my overdraft this year and have stayed away. 

This morning most of the horses had routine canters and those that worked yesterday went for a quiet hack around the farm. Lamanver Alchemy is in fine fettle after her win at Warwick, we will concentrate on getting her well schooled before sending her over hurdles. Kelsey looks as if he will be our next runner at Lingfield on Tuesday but again, he has to get in off a low ballot mark.
