David John made it 4 wins from 4 runners for his owner trainer combination. His jumping was accurate enough for the first time over fences and his jump 3 out won him the race, he stayed on to the line and will grow in confidence mentally for that, he certainly knows he’s won and was extremely pleased with himself this morning. Arctic Sword ran a very pleasing race, he was caught for toe in a slowly run race but galloped to the line and will be a fun horse for someone after a summer. He may run again but will head to Doncaster sales in August if he’s not sold beforehand. He’s a very athletic individual with sixe and scope, he just needs the summer to strengthen up and fill his frame.

Fakenham is a long way from home, the journey there and back is painful, Fakenham has a lovely atmosphere but is very much a horses for courses course. Amalfi Doug ran creditably and will now head over fences. He too could be in the sales as his owner is now spending more and more time out of the country. He is still a maiden and would make up into a super p2p horse.

The power washer has been working overtime, all barns are steam cleaned, disinfected and painted ready for refilling. Three young horses arrived today, two to be broken in and another on six weeks’ refresher course. Two more horses are arriving tomorrow and two more will head off for their summer breaks.

Mcelligott runs over hurdles for the first time at Southwell tomorrow, what looked like a nice race to get him started in at 9.55 this morning has become a competitive enough novice. Horses have to get started sometime and somewhere.  Ridgeway pearl also makes her debut in the fillies bumper, she’s not very big but will try her best in what looks to be a race that will throw up plenty of future winners.
