It most certainly was a Happy Easter. A Champion Hurdle winner no less, the fact it was the Sussex one doesn't stop us enjoying it.

We had a fabulous day on Saturday at Larkhill and Sunday was the icing on the cake. Vado Forte won the £50,000 Sussex Champion hurdle at Plumpton yesterday. Plumpton is a charming track and one that has been lucky for me, it is very rural and well supported with plenty NH enthusiasts. For a track like Plumpton to stage £50,000 races is highly commendable, ARC could learn a thing or two! A few suggested Vado Forte should head to Ayr for The Scottish Champion hurdle, he won’t be doing that and will be let down for a decent summer once this weather sorts itself out. We are setting our sights on The Close Brothers novice chase next March - where would we be without targets to aim at.

All three horses have come out of their races in great shape.

Typical Monday morning canters in the rain.
