What a way to bring in the New Year, Singlefarmpayment winning at Cheltenham is very special. Last year was tough on a personal front as Sophie spent much of it in hospital and then had a head on crash in November just when she was getting back on her feet. I must say I’m pleased to see the back of 2015, although, on the horse front it was good.
Today is all about a great team effort and a day I will remember for the rest of my life. No one can do this job on their own and you need good people around you. I am overwhelmed by all the kind messages I received from all sorts of people. Some I’ve never met, others I see regularly and those I see every 5 to 10 years. The phone is still bleeping and ringing but I can’t keep answering it. If I do I won’t get all the things done I need to do before morning. I will catch up with everyone within the next 24 hours. Foolishly, I didn’t record Channel 4 so if anyone can tell where I might find the coverage on-line or anywhere else I’d be grateful.
I’ve been told that I will have to buy the pick and mix at Gloucester rugby tomorrow.
The 4 runners from yesterday are all fine this morning.
