Glory and Honour is fine after his run yesterday, I think we will jump a fence with him next.

Thursdays have become a quieter day for many of the horses this year, the majority had a couple of nice canters on the hill. The younger horses put in some hard slower yards around the sand.

More bad press for the industry, a former assistant trainer has been found guilty of miss treating horses on the schooling field. What has been reported is completely unacceptable. Rather than beating the horse, he may have been better off taking a step backwards with poles on the ground if need be. We have all witnessed starters cracking a whip at the start of races, if such action isn’t enough to get the result one wants when schooling a stubborn or insecure horse one needs to revert to smaller steps. If jumping isn’t made to be fun and enjoyable for the horses, they will not reach their full potential.

Tomorrow we head to Uttoxeter with Roger Rarebit, Kishorn and Benito. To read my thoughts click here.
