Hard yards around the sand for all the horses this morning, those coming off the back of runs didn’t have to graft as hard as others. What rain we’ve had will certainly affect those courses who have been watering all summer, those who have not will have seen it run off the top.

Ludlow must be one of the most friendly, knowledgeable crowds in national hunt racing and it is always nice to go there. Not only for the reasons mentioned, but it is close to home. The maize conveys doubled my journey time. As predicted, it was all too sharp for Flash and he will have to travel further away from home to find the right race.

The BHA are now reportedly investigating another case involving a female jockey, I think the female jockeys and the BHA should watch the documentary about Hollie Doyle. They may learn something.

I’m doing a zoom meeting tonight with Mark Howard and the Value Racing club members. We are talking about Mark’s book One Jump Ahead – it is very informative and a must read for any national hunt fan. I will often use it as a point of reference when wanting to know something about a particular horse. You can order your copy here.
