Four days of following horses that couldn’t be afforded at Doncaster was frustrating. The bloodstock world seems to be in its own bubble. When the powers that be see that the sales of horses are pretty much unaffected as a result of their incapability the biggest fear with it all is that they will not address the major issues within it, prize money being at the forefront of my mind. It does show that there is still huge demand for people to own racehorses in training. I fear, for as long as they can get away from increasing prize money to a more acceptable minimum level they will continue to do so. The sales results would suggest that prize money is not as big as an issue as some may think it is.

Training my first flat winner was very enjoyable, Competition has been some horse for Value Racing, San Augstin getting his head in front at Southwell was also great and our hand may well be forced to run agian at Stratford on Saturday for wehich he is declared.

Sales are tiring for horse and human!

The yard is ticking over with the steam cleaner working full bore, this morning we worked Kishorn, Black Anthem, I’m On Snap, Yes No Maybe So and Sinndarella. Teescomponentslass and King Ferdinand schooled over hurdles and Neveille’s Cross over fences. It is the time of year to get things sorted out, the oldest walker is having new rubber blocks fitted on the walkway. It never stops………

The rain is a nuisance for the summer horses, October and November will be the new May and June when we will all be crying for rain.

Hazzaar heads to Worcester this evening to read my thoughts click here.
