Typical routine canters for the horses, Tea Clipper and Dorking Boy worked. We need rain and it doesn’t look like it is coming for a week or two yet.

Thank you to all those who have continued to support my thoughts page, another £800.00 went to Katharine House Hospice this morning.

Leicester ended up having to sand the home turn yesterday, that seems a strange thing to have had to do on good to soft good ground. I wonder if they did so using their hands as the team treading in didn’t have a fork between them.

I received a text from an owner today telling me that their friends, some of which are annual members of Cheltenham were horrified by the behaviour of race goers at Cheltenham over the weekend. Racecourses continue to encourage those who are not interested in horses who come purely for the beer. This is all well and good and one can’t blame them for wanting to make money but they must safeguard the purest. The London tracks are horrendous. Thankfully, I am yet to witness a repeat of the brawl I saw outside the gates at Market Rasen a few years back. I have no issue with anyone having a nice time or getting drunk. However, if drunk racegoers are intimidating genuine fans the racecourses need to take responsibility and put measures in place allowing those who go racing for the racing to feel safe. Security costs money and a balance needs to be found. I do not recall busloads of beer seeking individuals coming racing throughout my childhood.

Glory and Honour, Lossiemouth and Gold Clermont all head to Ffos Las tomorrow to read my thoughts click here.
