It is very easy when a jockey puts their hand up and says they got it wrong, and that is what Joe Fanning was happy to do yesterday. Not many do that and in my experience it is only the top lads that have the confidence to do so. Competition will win again on the flat but we may have another go over hurdles next time.

Is it all down hill when struggling to get a game let alone a set of tennis off your fifteen-year-old son, he scores more runs than you and takes more wickets than you. Yesterday I was two down with two to play on the golf course and found myself wondering where all the time had gone since he was a screaming child. Thankfully my golf is somewhat stronger than the tennis and cricket and I managed to claw back the last two holes with a couple of pars.
